Welcome

Regard Resources has a large selection of gas plants and equipment in inventory. We customize, engineer, manufacture, install and service our equipment to meet the needs of our customers in gas processing. Our staff can also help you locate equipment for your specific needs. Give us a call with your equipment requirements and design conditions. We’ll be happy to offer our proposal.

With the expertise of our engineers, the powerful WINSIM simulation software accurately identifies the required square footage of the heat exchangers, the required refrigeration load, the liquid production, and very importantly, the characteristics of the residue gas.

We have enjoyed international recognition as a reasonable, reliable, and responsive source of professional engineering, design, procurement, installation and operation of Joule-Thompson units, refrigeration systems, amine systems, dehydrators, and associated processing vessells.

Experience

Since 1985, Regard Resources has been providing gas processing equipment and services, offering processing upgrades and meeting pipeline specs.

Knowledge

President and owner, Raymond Regard, received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University in 1981 and has gained in excess of 30 years of invaluable oil and gas experience.

Results

With the use of the very powerful WINSIM computer program, we can accurately produce a process simulation which would give the customer valuable information such as residue BTU, residue hydrocarbon deszpoint, volume shrinkage and LPG production.

FAQ

How much does processing shrink my inlet volume?

Methane is about 52 cu. ft. per gallon and heptane is about 22 cu. ft. per gallon. A good rule of thumb is your shrinkage will be about 32 cu. ft. per gallon.

When would a Joule-Thompson plant be more desirable than a straight refrigeration plant?

There are several things to consider for this decision.

  • Do you have adequate pressure drop in place without adding compression?

The ideal situation is when you have +/- 1000 psi  flowing tubing pressure and a 300-400 psi sales line pressure. You will typically see about 15 degrees F temperature drop for each 100 psi pressure drop.

  • Do you have electricity available?

Typically refrigeration plants will need electricity, either city power or a generator.  J.T. Plants do not need electricity.

  • How stringent are the pipeline specs?

Sales line requirements such as a 1100 BTU cape or a 10 degree F hydrocarbon dew point are much more easily achieved with a refrigeration plant.

Should a pressurized storage tank be utilized?

If you operate at a separation temperature of around 30* F or less, you will probably vent
more revenues than the cost of renting or purchasing a tank.

Should I lease or purchase a processing facility?

If you anticipate your production to be fairly consistent for a long period of time, you may consider purchasing. You will need a fairly competent operator to ensure safe, continuous operation.
